HuPerT® is a cost-effective training device designed to train your workers to a standard that will help prevent, anticipate and catch Human Performance errors during the execution of work in any sector. Extensive analysis of tragic events by experts in the nuclear industry have identified many commonalities which allowed the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO®) to create their compendium of directives which has become the basis of Human Performance worldwide. HuPerT® was designed with these directives in mind. We are continually refining our product according our client’s feedback and industry’s requirements.
Each HuPerT® model has six programs designed to train and evaluate your employees in accordance with the following Human Performance Tools: Briefings, Communications, Procedures, Situational Awareness, Checking, and Verification. Actuation of the various style buttons and rotating controls results in visual and audible indication of correct and incorrect Operator actions that can be easily adapted to meet your company’s learning objectives.
This five-day program provides a set of practical methods to anticipate, prevent, and catch errors related to hands-on work and describes Human Performance methods commonly used in the commercial industry by workers – that is, anyone who touches plant equipment and is capable of altering its status. An additional intent is to establish a common understanding of the standards and conditions for effective application of error prevention methods (HU Tools). Although the primary audience for this program is front-line workers and their supervisors; managers and support staff may find the contents useful in carrying out their roles and responsibilities in support of work execution.
Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO®) set the standard and identified and developed the HU Tools necessary to meet that standard. The tried-and-true methods described in this Training Course reflects years of user experience among INPO’s domestic membership. Most Human Performance Tools were derived from the practices used by high-performing workers: individuals known to regularly perform their work with high quality. Also, the experience INPO has gained from plant evaluations, assistance visits, operating experience, and benchmarking trips validates the usefulness of these tools.
HuPerT® Fluid Dynamic Learning Activity (“DLA”) is an advanced Human Performance training device that promotes and enhances teamwork by allowing two separate teams of people to demonstrate their learned Human Performance communication skills. Our methodology centers on a key set of topics that enhance teamwork in high-risk settings. These core skills are widely accepted as the most pertinent to highly professional and well-trained workers operating in high-stakes situations, where safety is critical to promoting constructive outcomes.
While recognizing that the operating environment will always possess risk, errors can be pre-empted when identified, prioritized, and managed before the risk becomes a reality. Thus, the teams will demonstrate their Human Performance procedural compliance skills using the DLA.
